This is one of the most important texts for the Indo-Europeanist field in the early 1990s. Mallory is especially interested in the original location of the speakers. He intended the book to be an overview and an introduction to this question, so it reads relatively easily, with plenty of examples. There are a lot of opinions on the book on the internet, qualified and otherwise, so you go and "do the math".

As it happens, there is a funny story behind this scan. A friend of mine was arguing that scanning was a quick and fun activity without much physical pain. Of course, he had never scanned a book before. So, I challenged him, and he ended up digitizing this one while being quite drunk (I couldn't get him to do anything larger).

His scan turned out surprisingly well (with some guidance on my part), and i made sure nothing was missing, but there were also a few really wacky moments. i cleaned up the strange pages (including 20 pages of nonsense at the beginning), but if you want to take a peek at SUI (scanning under the influence), i uploaded one of them for fun. Perhaps predictably, my friend has refused to scan another book.
