Цитата:
"Loot" is the coming together of three distinct creative personas, of three distinct expressive forces;
Melina Kana, the most arresting voice that has come out of Greece lately; Thanasis Papakonstantinou, the composer who thinks that the city of Ashkhabad is as close as a nearby village; and Ashkhabad, the finest soloists of Turkmenistan who can turn a mere gathering into a banquet. They met, developed friendships, improvised communications that deranged translators and made music. The result is a scrapbook of memories, laughter, non verbal jokes and heart felt emotions in the form of songs.

THE FAIRY
All the world's birds
wherever they fluttered,
wherever they built their nest,
wherever they sang.
There where the mind flutters,
there where it dawns,
the birds of the earth are numbed
and not one can approach.
Like a fairy I'll live.
Like a fairy.
A fiery breath it is
and Caucasus' prairie,
the thought that maunders
and tells of your dreams.
No matter how many prisons they build
and if the cordon narrows,
our mind is like a vagabond
who will always escape.
Like a fairy I'll live.
Like a fairy.
Kurban Kurbanov: accordion
Sabir Rizaev: piano
Kostas Theodorou: bass
Arr.: Antonis Apergis, Sabir Rizaev
POUR SOME WINE
Oh! life is like butter under the sun,
everything on earth says so clearly.
Whoever is in pain and doesn't admit it
makes pain his ruler.
Pour some wine in the friend's glass
and let loneliness commit hara-kiri*.
Time will throw us to nowhere,
so we, sprites,
like trucks that deviated from the road
we'll live passionately.
Pour some wine in the friend's glass
and let loneliness commit hara-kiri.
* Harakiri (or hara-kiri) most often refers to a form of seppuku (Japanese ritual suicide).

THE STYLITE*
- On your loose hair glow-worms lair.
- On the loose hair, oh! you saw my love.
You saw the sky's laughter, the falcon's neb,
you saw the first flight, the bloom's motive.
- On your loose hair glow-worms lair.
- On the loose hair, oh! you saw my love.
- On your white neck the snow falls thick.
- On the white neck a warm hand approaches.
It brings the five fingers, it brings the ten caresses,
it also brings a crabbed body that is used to darkness.
- On your white neck the snow falls thick.
- On the white neck a warm hand approaches.
- On your eyelashes a forgotten stylite lives.
- On the eyelashes you're ascended.
You play the lute with a feather and I close my eyes,
you slide from the eyelids and I let you in my heart.
- On your eyelashes a forgotten stylite lives.
* Stylites (from Greek stylos, "pillar") or Pillar-Saints are a type of Christian ascetic who in the early days of the Byzantine Empire stood on pillars preaching, fasting and praying. They believed that the mortification of their bodies would help ensure the salvation of their souls.

HE WHO HAS LOVED, DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO SAY IT
In your two eyes hold me,
as a forest that holds the rain
love me like it's never done before
because I'm a gift, I'm a wound.
And I'll embellish your world
like a night fairy tale
and when the roads cloak you
I'll be there to warm your return.
The words false like March's snow
he who has loved, does not know how to say it.
Hold me in your two eyes
because I'm a rustle, I'm silence.
And I'll embellish your world
like a night fairy tale
and when the roads cloak you
I'll be there to warm your return.

WRONGFUL DEAL
Whatever we truly lose, we live it fakely
inside the mind's storm, there in the dark,
cutting all the ropes that hold us on the ground,
that hold us and we haven't fall into the fire yet.
Behind the door our souls quench their thirst with laudanum,
the sins are always fed by wounds.
Leaning sweetly on sleep's chisel,
a breath unfolds on our tight lips.
And then just before the depth of the horizon appears
in our time's expiration, in the wrongful deal,
we extend our hand like hooks, the hands that grew,
to grope for a moment the fruit they didn't harvest.

SPEAKING OF YOU
I speak to the high, rugged mountains
and tell them of you,
of your beauty, the curve of your eyebrows
like the arch of an old stone bridge.
And they reply:
"The bridges are overgrown with weeds.
Poor creature, do not be deceived."
I speak to the sky's black clouds
and tell them of you,
how the barren earth blossoms
wherever you walk.
And they reply:
"The earth blossoms where it will.
Poor creature, do not be deceived."
I speak to the remote and lonely springs
and tell them of you,
how when you llok at me, when you say you love me,
angels flap their wings.
And they reply:
"The angels are made of paper.
Poor creature, do not be deceived."

LOOT OF THE NIGHT
The precious spoils of night
lurk in your gaze
like the thief who knows
that the next step
will be prison.
Mortal beauty become immortal.
Become immortal mortal beauty.
Mad bird and ephemeral,
narcissistic bird.
The mirror, like a mouth,
like a cavern and a sea,
playing with faces,
living with idols
another prison.
Mortal beauty become immortal.
Become immortal mortal beauty.
Mad bird and ephemeral,
narcissistic bird.

ALEXANDRA
The leaves are red,
autumn leaves
and the salamander shimmers
like the devil's stocking.
Mount Kissavos* is not enough for her,
this place is not enough for her,
and if you talk of reason to her
you will do so in vain.
Alexandra, Salamandra, how wicked of you!
Why did you go with another man, bad girl?
When Salamandra watches
the rain fall from the sky,
she remembers the love
that she no longer has.
Pushing the brown earth aside,
leaving her burrow
and where the wild boar wallows
she lets her tears flow.
In yellow and black you dress
looking beautiful,
Alexandra, Alexandra,
how could you forget me?
* Mount Kissavos (Ossa) in Thessaly, central Greece, with 1.978 metres altitude is a mountain of unique natural beauty.

TONIGHT
Tonight the song will be like a prayer,
it will be an olive grove in a forgotten land.
Tonight the song will become a hug
that will include you too, though you're far away.
Tonight nobody can cheat the moon
it caresses basil with the one hand
and I sleepless, awake all night,
I don't know if I'll die or be born again.
Tonight my heart will be an old
bicycle that wants to reach the sky,
to find Massimo Troisi* and tell him
that life can change overnight.
Tonight the song
will become a hug
that will include you too,
though you're far away.
* Massimo Troisi (1953-1994) was an Italian actor, film director and poet. He is best known for his role as Mario Ruoppolo in the 1994 film "Il Postino".
