The Sakha of Yakutia, in sub-Arctic Siberia, are a non-Muslim Turkic people whose music has been influenced not only by the Mongols but also by the smaller and very different Arctic groups to the north of them: the Even, the reindeer-herding Cukc and other nomadic peoples of Kolyma in Arctic north.
